Introduction

My name is Jalyn White, and I am currently a senior at Salem High School's Visual and Performing Arts Academy. Throughout my high school career, I have pursued my developed passion of theatre by serving as a cast and production team member in various performances during the theatre seasons. My passions are education, equality, and medicine, and I plan on finding a powerful mix between them. Young women and students like me take advantage of every opportunity given to them, proven by my dedication to the 2019-2020 One Act Play as a co-director, my unwavering support for the Class of 2020 as a co-historian, and my leadership in the International Thespian Society as Lead Member-At-Large. Everyday I try my hardest to represent myself and my family well.

After high school, I plan on attending a Spelman College, then medical school as I work hard to become an orthopedic surgeon. There is something very special about healing, and to have that responsibility is both challenging and rewarding. I have witnessed firsthand that the power of medicine is inevitable, and to utilize my critical thinking skills and my theatre background to apply the power of medicine says something bold about my character.
